Admissions
We understand that starting a new school can be a significant transition for both the child and their parents or carers. At Oakmont School, we strive to make this process as smooth and comfortable as possible. Our admission process is thorough, ensuring that we can provide the best possible education and support for each child's unique needs.
Upon joining Oakmont School, each child will receive an admissions pack containing important information such as policies, photographs of the school, and consent forms that need to be signed by parents/carers/those with parental responsibility. To ensure that each child/young person receives the best possible support, they will be assigned a dedicated 'Class teacher' and provided with a draft timetable. We strive to provide a welcoming and inclusive environment for all our pupils, and we work closely with parents or carers to ensure a successful transition into our school community.
We understand that every child is unique, and we are committed to meeting their individual needs to ensure a positive and successful educational experience at Oakmont School. We welcome enquiries from parents or carers interested in enrolling their child at our school and encourage them to contact us for further information or to arrange a visit.
Safeguarding
At Oakmont School, the well-being and safety of our pupils are of utmost importance. We maintain a robust Safeguarding Policy, strictly adhering to the guidance and protocols outlined in the Wales Safeguarding Procedures. Our staff receives regular training on safeguarding matters, ensuring they are equipped to create a secure and nurturing environment for every pupil. Our dedicated Child Safeguarding person (DSP), Kelly Price, oversees the implementation of safeguarding practices, providing a confidential point of contact for any concerns regarding the welfare of our pupils.
In addition to safeguarding, we prioritise Health and Safety measures to maintain a secure learning environment. Our staff are trained to identify and address potential hazards, ensuring that our school premises and activities comply with the highest health and safety standards.
At Oakmont School, we are committed to creating a safe and healthy space where pupils can learn, grow, and flourish. Our comprehensive safeguarding and health & safety efforts are in place to prioritise the well-being of our school community.
